I am 21 years old and have been with my amazing husband going on 7 years! We are expecting our first child (son) any day now, and currently have 5 dogs. We met in a class in high school and have been together ever since. We married after our 3 year anniversary in our steelers jerseys. :)
About a year and a half ago my husband and i decided to pick up and leave the only life, family, and friends we know. It took us about a week to come up with the decision and to get used to the idea of living so far from everyone who is dear to our hearts. however, we know that it was time for a change. We had both been raised in the same town our entire lives, and were stuck in the same old routine. This "simple" decision to move ended up changing our lives forever!
We used some savings and put money down on a really nice place, you know 2 bed, 2 bath, 2 stories, and a back yard. It was a really nice place that was well within our budget. We were so happy to finally have our own place to call our own. Then we realized, ok now we need to find JOBS! By the grace of God I was able to find a job first working on collections for a collections company, and a month later my husband ended up working at the same location! So we were bringing in double the income, worked the same hours, and were able to save money by car pooling.
Just about a month later... our only form of transportation had broke down, the engine had blew and we did not have a car. My husband had just sold his truck so that we could have some cash for food until we got paid, and had to pay rent again in just a few weeks....
I hope you are not bored yet.. but next part will be coming next week.. this is just a start to how we began living frugally and spending less.
